How to : Sweet Apple treat for the Teacher

I saw a tutorial on Google (my other BFF :) for these apples, but after getting all the supplies and trying one, I decided to modify it to be easier for the younger kids I had invited to our Back to School party! ( see that party post Here
Back to School Candy Apple for the Teacher
I used red candy - chocolate drops and jelly beans, but whatever you'd like to get that's red will work. (Or I was thinking you could just use red tissue paper too, wrapped around whatever candy your teacher likes!) And a snack-sized plastic ziplock bag. I punched 1 3/4" circles from green cardstock. Printed, cut and punched with a tag topper punch, these free printable tags. A tootsie roll pop, red ramekin from the dollar store, a brown marker, and some ribbon round out the supplies.
Cut the stick of the lolly in half, and color the stump brown for your apple stem
With the zipper side down, nestle your pop in the center with the stem out the top
Fold the bag around and hold the two top corners together.
Then smush (technical term) the bag into the ramekin.
Not exactly apple-like!
Fuss with it a bit, pushing the candy around and adjusting the bag,
to create a more rounded top:
In the gap side where the bag end meet, tuck your green circle, folded in half,
and secure with a bit of glue or double stick tape. A leaf!
Then add the ribbon to your tag, and tie it onto the apple 'stem'.
Have your student sign the back &  you've got a sweet treat to give the teacher!
It'll be a big treat having you as my Teacher!
Happy Back to School - and
Happy Crafting!!
